In fact, we will talk about the compact water Venturi scrubber, which is used in particular in the roll cutting phase, the final product of many companies operating in the tissue and converting sector.

What is the Compact Water Venturi Scrubber Filter

The compact water scrubber filter follows the same operating principle as regular Venturi scrubbers, from which it differs in its smaller size. As a result, also in this case, the filter allows you to purify an air flow from polluting particles through:

1. Contaminated air inlet. Initially, the operating mechanism conveys the air in which the residues to be removed are present into the filter system through an intake duct.
2. Humidification. Once the contaminated air is inside, the humidification phase is activated. A jet of water is sprayed into the duct, humidifying the air and creating ideal conditions for the subsequent capture of pollutant particles.
3. Contact with the section of the scrubber filter where the so-called “Venturi effect” applies. Humidified air is passed through the venturi section of the filter: a narrowing duct followed by a large expansion chamber. If a fluid passes through a pipeline, its pressure increases or decreases as a function of its velocity. As a result, as the section shrinks, velocity and pressure grow turbulently.
4. Particle separation. As soon as the flow of polluted air mixed with water enters the expansion chamber, it slows down: this allows the water to capture the residues present, before being separated from the air flow. As a result, the air leaving the process is effectively purified.
5. Discharge of contaminated water. Water containing polluting particles, on the other hand, is collected and subsequently purified or disposed of in accordance with current environmental regulations.

Describing how the scrubber works, we talked about polluting particles. In the case of the compact water Venturi scrubber filter used for the converting sector, it is more precisely metal powders. This type of filtering system, in fact, is applied in a specific area of the production lines: this is the point where the paper rolls are cut.

The cut is made by means of a disc blade that self-sharpens and generates extremely fine metal residues. As a result, unlike other similar larger filter systems, in this case the small water scrubber not only reduces paper dust, but also the very fine metal emery produced during cutting.

• Ease of installation. The SC 20 compact scrubber, in fact, is a stand-alone machine. It requires only a few switchover signals that are essential to regulate its operation and is connected to the company’s hydraulic and electrical system without any special precautions.
• As a result, it minimizes the need for technical intervention during start-up. In other words, you don’t need Sorgato technicians to install it.
